Another 1st December is upon us and this can only mean one thing - Winter Wonderland Day 2015.  This year we had Santa visit us with his reindeer, a living nativity scene in the school hall and Daniel Cutting keeping the crowd entertained with his football skills.  As always, Cooper the St Bernard was saying hello to everybody as they walked passed Santa's Workshop.  A truly magical day was had by everybody.

They also had the opportunity to enter the Whipsnade classroom where they learned about animals camouflaging and even stroked a snake! - Tuesday 12th May.

This week Foundation enjoyed a trip to Butterfly World in St. Albans. They spent the day learning about butterflies, bees, ants and lots of other mini-beasts. Some of them were brave enough to hold a cockroach, an African land snail and a stick insect! They saw an enormous ant and were lucky to find out what it would be like to be a mini-beast in a garden of huge flower pots, little hand fork, giant matchsticks, key and coin. They left Butterfly World completely
exhausted and some of them had a little nap on the coach - Monday 11th May.

For the past 3 weeks or so, Year 2 have been caring for a number of caterpillars, and have enjoyed watching their life cycle, from caterpillars, through the chrysalis stage before transforming into butterflies. The children released the butterflies and were thrilled as they watched them fly away into the sky - Friday 8th May.

naming a variety of flowers - Tuesday 5th May.
